Our Story

Real IT experience — brought into consultancy

We bring our own IT work experience into everything we do. Founded in 2015 with the aim of providing the most reliable and professional IT services in New Zealand — we deliver consultancy that adds significant value to your IT projects.

With over 15 years of hands-on experience across the IT industry, we have held roles spanning Software Engineer, Functional Consultant, Integration Consultant, Solution Architect, Project Manager, and Scrum Master. That depth of real-world delivery is what sets our consultancy apart.

We have worked across some of New Zealand and Australia's largest organisations — including QBE, IAG, Accenture, EY, Westpac, and FMG — delivering complex enterprise programmes across Guidewire implementations, solution architecture, system integration, and IT project management.

Roy Sun

Founder & IT Consultant

Roy brings over 15 years of hands-on IT industry experience to every client engagement. His career spans the full technology delivery spectrum — from writing code as a Software Engineer to designing enterprise systems as a Solution Architect, managing large-scale programmes as a Project Manager, and leading agile teams as a Scrum Master.

Roy has delivered complex IT programmes for some of New Zealand and Australia's most prominent organisations, including QBE Insurance, IAG, Accenture, EY, FMG, and Westpac. His deep expertise in Guidewire implementation, system integration, solution architecture, and data migration makes him a trusted partner for enterprise IT engagements.

Roy founded Sun Recruitment & Consultancy in 2015 with a clear mission: to provide the most reliable and professional IT consultancy and recruitment services in New Zealand — grounded in real experience, not just theory.

Xu Nie

Principal Consultant

Xu is a Principal Consultant specialising in iOS mobile application development and cybersecurity. He brings deep technical expertise in native iOS engineering — from UX design and Swift development through to App Store delivery — combined with a strong offensive security background focused on penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.

Xu's dual specialisation makes him uniquely positioned to deliver mobile solutions that are not only performant and intuitive, but built with security at their core. He works closely with clients to design, build, and harden iOS applications and digital infrastructure against modern threats.
